About the Department

The Department of Corporate Secretaryship was established in the year 1994 and Professional Accounting in the year 2014 with a view to fulfill the needs of the corporate world. The department constitutes a team of committed faculty members who strive for the betterment of the students. The aim of the Department is to make the students to be trained for the completion of the ACS and CA professional courses. The department encourages and guides the students who are willing to take up the ACS and CA courses. Our ambition is to make the students, to complete the foundation/CPT and executive/IPCC of ACS/CA within the stipulated period of 3 years. The department has signed an MoU with ICSE (Coimbatore Chapter) for ACS (Foundation Course).

    • Association Activities Inauguration - 2024 was organized for the students on 11.7.2024 CS. S Vijay Mahindhran Chairman,ICSI Coimbatore Chapter was the Resource person and Professional Course Awareness Program (In collaboration with ICSI Coimbatore Chapter) CS. C. Sakunthala Vice Chairperson, ICSI Coimbatore Chapter was the Resource person.
    • In collaboration with The Karur Vysya Bank, Mettukadai Branch "SB Account Opening Program" was organized for the Students on 30.07.2024.
    • Personality Development Programme on "Success through Energy" and “The Power of Thoughts was conducted for the second year students on 12.8.2024 & 13.8.2024. Rtn. Dr. M. Shanmugasundaram Director, Phoenix Training Academy Erode was the Resource person.
    • The Department was conducted an Awareness Program on "Anti Drug and Anti Ragging - Human Chain Formation" on 16.08.2024.
    • Industrial Visit to Texvalley Gangapuram, Erode for the final year students on 17.8.2024.
    • Guest Lecture on "AI Tools for the Future" was conducted for II-B.Com (PA) 'A' & 'B' and III- B.Com (PA) Students on 28.8.2024. P.Gobinath,Senior Software Developer, ETS Academy, Erode. was the Resource Person.
    • As a part of Best Practice a Training Program on "Mock Trading" was organized by the Department Head and Faculty members for the second year students on 29.8.2024 (FN)
    • As a part of Best Practice a Training Program on "Exploring Entrepreneurs" was organized by the department Head and Faculty members for the final year students on 29.8.2024 (AN)

    • Students Induction Program was conducted on 26.06.2023 for the First Year Students. The Head of the Department addressed the first year students regarding College rules & regulations, academic career, code of ethics and future prospects.
    • Department Faculty Members conducted Bridge course for First Year Non-Computer Students from 10.07.2023 to 12.07.2023 & on 14.07.2023.
    • Association Activities were Inaugurated on 13.07.2023. CS. A. Elanghovan, Chairman of ICSI Coimbatore Chapter was the Chief Guest. On the same day Professional Course Awareness Program was conducted for all Commerce stream students. CS Awareness was created in Session-I by CS. C. Sakunthala, Secretary, ICSI Coimbatore Chapter and CA Awareness was created in Session-II by CA. R. Arulselvam, Partner, Thilagar Associates, Perundurai.
    • On 13.07.2023 the Department in association with IQAC and in collaboration with ICSI Coimbatore Chapter organized Faculty Development Programme on "Trends in Teaching and Learning Pedagogy". CS. K. Ravi, Chief Financial Officer, Roots Group of Companies & Director, Roots Multiclean Ltd, Coimbatore addressed the Faculty Members.
    • SB Account opening event was organized on 14.07.2023. Ms. M. Karthika, (Alumnus) Cashier and Ms. P Shobana, Business Correspondent of Indian Overseas Bank, Nasiyanur Branch opened 60 SB Account for our Department students in our College campus.
    • Academic Exchange Programme with Patrician College of Arts and Science(PCAS), Chennai was carried out from 17.07.2023 to 19.07.2023.
    • 9 students and 1 faculty member from KASC, Erode and around 25 students from PCAS, Chennai were involved in this Academic Exchange Programme.
    • In order to bridge the gap between school and college career, an orientation programme was organised for the first year students on 18.07.2023. Session-I was addressed by Mr.R.Dhanapal, Art of Living International Faculty, Sri Sri Yoga Tamil Nadu State Co-Ordinator on “Health and Happiness”. Session-II was addressed by Mr. Sri Sasikumaar, Human Lifestyle Mentor, Gnana Sanjeevanam Gurukulam, Coimbatore on “Power of Self”.
    • Best Practice “Mock Trading” training was given by S.Piruthiviraj (Alumnus) Deputy Manager, Indusind Bank Ltd, Coimbatore. (Capital Market Investor) and by the Department Faculty Members for Second Year students on 23.8.2023. On the same day Best Practice “Exploring Entrepreneurs” training was given by the Department Faculty Members for Third Year students.
    • The Department in association with IQAC organized Legal Awareness Program on 30.8.2023. Legal Awareness was created by Mr. V. Suren & Mr.N.Sugavanam, students of the Central Law College, Salem in two sessions namely Session-I Constitution Law of India and Session –II Motor Vehicles Act for students, Non-teaching staff members & Drivers.
    • Guest Lecture on ‘Financial Services and Opportunities’ was conducted on 31.8.2023 for II and III year Professional Accounting students. CA P. Prasanth Surya, Practicing Chartered Accountant, Paul & Aravind Chartered Accountants, Tirupur was the resource person.
    • Faculty Exchange Programme with Sri Rama Krishna Mission Vidhyalaya College of Arts and Science (A), (SRKMVCAS), Coimbatore was carried out from 20.09.2023 to 22.09.2023.
    • Mr.C.Karthick, Assistant Professor, SRKMVCAS, Coimbatore. and Dr.P.Parvatham, Associate Professor, KASC, Erode were involved in the programme. Dr.M.Shanmuga Sundaram, Trainer of Phoenix Training Academy imparted Personality Development Programme on 21.9.2023 & 22.9.2023 under the topic “Be a Google Map”.
    • Hybrid mode International Multidisciplinary Conference on “Emerging Trends in Humanities in the New Revolutionary Era 5.0” was organized by the Department in collaboration with PCAS on 26.09.2023. Inaugural address and Technical Session-I was addressed by Prof. Dr. Firdous, Professor, STIA Abdul Haris College of Administrative Science, Makassar, Indonesia. He addressed on “New Business Opportunities in the Digital Era”, Technical Session-II was addressed by Prof. Ramanathan Karuppiah, International Director, Financial Crime Compliance, Australia, Griffith University, Director, Islamic Bank, Australia on “Artificial Intelligence and Sustainability Development”. Dr. M.B. Arun Balakrishnan, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce, Christ College (Autonomous) , Irinjalakuda, Kerala addressed on “Research and Economic Impact in Industry 5.0” in the Technical Session-III. Technical Session-IV was addressed by Mr. Balaji Sadagopan, COO - Chai Kings on “Resilience and Reinvention”. A total of 49 research papers were presented in the Conference. These presentations were moderated by Dr.G.Joicy Lidwina, Assistant Professor, Department of Corporate Secretaryship, Loyola College, Chennai and Dr.C.J.Lakshmi, Assistant Professor, Mount Carmel College (Autonomous), Bengaluru. Erode, VV National Chairs, Managing Director, Mr.V. Senthilmurugan addressed in the valedictory session. A total of 1073 Faculty Members and Students from 26 colleges inside and outside Tamilnadu participated along with Kongu Arts and Science College and Patrician College of Arts and Science, Chennai.
    • Extension activity ‘Unnatha Karangal’ was organized on 14.12.2023. Under this activity materials worth of Rs10,690/- was received as donation from the students for Chennai Michaung Cyclone Flood were handed over to the KASC NSS Program Officer.
    • Guest Lecture on “Emerging Trends in Accounting” was conducted on 15.12.2023 for second and third year Corporate Secretaryship students. Dr. K. Ramesh, Professor, PG and Research Department of Commerce, K.S.R College of Arts & Science (Autonomous), Tiruchengode was the resource person. Online Commerce Quiz exclusively for Higher Secondary Students was conducted during December 2023 and January 2024.
    • The Department & IQAC in collaboration with PCAS organized Five Days Online National Level Capacity Building Program(CBP) on “Unleash the Potential of AI for Research” from 22.1.2024 to 26.1.2024 through Microsoft Teams and G-Meet. DR. D. Kumaresan, Professor and Director, School of Commerce, K.S.R College of Arts and Science for Women, Tiruchengode was the resource person. On the first day he addressed on ‘AI for finding Articles’. The second day session was about ‘AI for Literature Review’ and in the third day he addressed on ‘AI for Chatting with Documents’. ‘AI for Plagiarism Check was the fourth day’s session and on the fifth day he addressed on ‘AI for Bibilography’. 353 Faculty Members, Research Scholars and Students from various Colleges across India participated in this Capacity Building Program.
    • Workshop on “GST and Business Practices” was conducted on 31.1.2024, 1.2.2024 & 8.2.2024 for final year students. Mr. D. Siva Shanmugam, GST Practitioner, GST Academy of Excellence, Erode was the resource person. Workshop on "Tally with GST" was organized for the second year students on 1.2.2024. Mr. S. Saravanan, Tally regional trainer, V-Guru Academy, Erode was the resource person.
    • To bring out the hidden talents of the students Intra-Departmental Function “CorPro FOCUS - 2024” was conducted on 20.2.2024 & 21.2.2024. Events such as Mock Meeting, Paradoxical Talk, Selfie Marketing, Treasure Out of Trash, Group Dance and Talent Collage were conducted. Deepiga.A.R (23UCSC008), Sabitha Devi.E (23UCSC041) and Vishweshwaran. T (23UCSC057) of first year Corporate Secretaryship students have completed ‘English Junior’ level in type writing.
    • One among the strength of our department is our old students. Alumni Exam Fees Scholarship was sponsored by 2011-2014 CS CA Batch. From April/May 2017 and onwards this scholarship was provided for one student in each class. 2014 -2017 PA Batch has started providing Alumni Exam Fees Scholarship from Nov/Dec 2022.

    • “Bridge Course” was conducted for the first year non-computer students on 8.8.2022, 10.8.2022, 11.8.2022 and 12.8.2022.
    • The Department conducted an “Anti Tobacco Awareness Survey” for the Erode and Tirupur District people to create awareness about the harmful effects of tobacco usage and the Tobacco Control Laws from 13.8.2022 to 16.8.2022.
    • “Inaugural of Association Activities” of the Department was organized on 18.08.2022. CS. S. Palanikumar, Chairman, ICSI Coimbatore Chapter, was the Resource Person.
    • MoU was signed with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (Coimbatore Chapter)” on 18.8.2022 and as a part of it a Professional Course Awareness program was organized on “Career as a Company Secretary” for the first year students.
    • In collaboration with The Karur Vysya Bank, Mettukadai Branch “SB Account Opening Program” was organized for the Students on 18.8.2022.
    • As a part of MoU signed with the Patrician College of Arts and Science, Chennai an International Conference (Hybrid Mode) was organized on “Research, Innovation & Entrepreneurship for Sustainable Economic Development” for the students on 7.9.2022 and the resource persons were:

Technical Session – 1 – Entrepreneurial Avenues in Current Scenario: Mr. Nikunj Panchal, Project Lead, AT Startup, Tamil Nadu. Technical Session – 2 – Innovation: Khalid Sulaiman Al-Salehi, Director, Industrial Incubators and Innovation, Oman. Technical Session – 3 – Demystifying Research in Social Science: Dr. T. Mohanasundaram, Associate Professor, Department of Management Studies, M S Ramaiah Institute of Technology. Valediction Address: Joshua Gerard, Chief operating officer (COO), Tamil Nadu Advanced Technical Training Institute.
    • An “Orientation Program” on ‘Meditation and Medication’ and ‘நம்பிக்கை என்னும் நன்மருந்து’ was conducted for the first year students on 22.9.2022 and Mr. R. Dhanabal, Art of Living International Faculty, Sri Sri Yoga Tamil Nadu State Co-Ordinator and Dr. P. Dhinakaran, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil, KASC (A) were the Resource Persons.
    • “Guest Lecture” on ‘Self Assertiveness and Self Efficacy’ was conducted for the second year students on 22.9.2022. Dr. C. Deepa, Outreach Coordinator, Centre of Mind, Erode was the Resource Person.
    • As a part of Best Practice a Training Program on “Mock Trading” was organized by the Department Head and Faculty members on 22.9.2022.
    • As a part of MoU Signed with Patrician College of Arts and Science, Chennai an “Academic Exchange - Student Exchange Program” was held on 14.10.2022 and 15.10.2022.
    • “Industrial Visit” to Traco Cable Company Limited, Cochin and Vagamon was arranged for the final year students on 17.10.2022 and 18.10.2022.
    • As a part of Best Practice a Training Program on “Exploring Entrepreneurs” was organized by the department Head and Faculty members on 3.11.2022.
    • Personality Development Programme on ‘Enhance Yourself’ was conducted for the Pre-final Year B.Com (CS CA) students on 5.1.2023 and Dr. M. Shanmuga Sundaram, Phonenix Training Academy, Erode, was the Resource Person.
    • Personality Development Programme on ‘Empowering Your Attitude’ was conducted for the Pre-final Year B.Com (PA) students on 6.1.2023 & 9.1.2023 and Dr. M. Shanmuga Sundaram, Phonenix Training Academy, Erode, was the Resource Person.
    • “Guest Lecture” on ‘Global Trends in Indian Economy’ was conducted for the final year students on 19.1.2023. Dr. V. Gowtham Raaj, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, G.R. Damodaran Academy of Management, Coimbatore acted as a resource person.
    • In order to have an practical exposure on application of management concepts and implementation of various Acts, “Factory visit” was organized for the pre-final year students to the Doddabetta Tea Factory (Ooty) on 4.2.2023.
    • An Extension activity on “Unnadha Karangal” (“Deposit your Donations for Destitute” - Donations can be of Text books, Note books, Dresses, Utensils, Other household items etc) was organized in association with Kathirampatti, Pavalathampalayam and Nanjanapuram on 15.2.2023. Around 191 villagers get benefited.
    • “CorPro FOCUS - 2022” an ‘Intra-Departmental Function’ was conducted on 22.2.2023 and 23.2.2023. Competitions such as Mock Meeting, Paradoxical Talk, Selfie Marketing, Treasure Out of Trash, Group Dance and Talent Collage were conducted.
    • As a part of Best Practice an Exploring Entrepreneurs videos were screened on 7.3.2023 and judged by Mr.K.K.Sureshkumar, Assistant Professor of Computer Science (PG), KASC and Dr. G.Karthi, Assistant Professor, Department of Master of Business Administration, KASC, Erode.
    • Workshop on “GST and Business Practices” was organized on 28.3.2023 & 29.3.2023. Mr. D. Siva Shanmugam, GST Practitioner, GST Academy of Excellence, Erode was the resource person.
    • Motivational Program on “Know Yourself” for the first year students was organized on 28.3.2023. Sri Sasikumaar, Human Lifestyle Mentor, Gnana Sanjeevanam Gurukulam, Coimbatore has acted as a resource person.
    • The Department of Corporate Secretaryship with CA and Professional Accounting organized the Valedictory Program in the name of Annual General Meeting on 13.4.2023.
