Funding Development Cell

KASC Funding development cell aims to nurture getting funds from recognized government organizations for the College by promoting research in newly emerging and challenging areas of Science, Arts and Humanities. It encourages the research scholars and faculty members to undertake the various major/minor projects and conduct sponsored seminars/workshops/conferences from various funding agencies to take up research in newly emerging frontier areas of multidisciplinary fields. The main vision of the Funding Development Cell is to create awareness and opportunities in funding projects and research among the research scholars and faculty members in relevant discipline.

  • The Funding Development Cell has organized a Four Day Webinar on Capacity Building – PDP which is sponsored by National Commission for Women (NCW), New Delhi-110025 for female students of our College from 20.10.2021 to 23.10.2021 through online mode. Dr. G. Barani, Associate Professor, Bharathiar School of Management and Entrepreneur Development, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore and Dr.S.Pavithra,Guest Faculty, Bharathiar School of Management and Entrepreneur Development, Bharathiar University in the topic Personal Capacity Building. The Session – II was handled by Dr. Bamini Rajasekharan, Director, Sri Ramakrishna Business School Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore in the topic Career Skills and the Session – III was handled by Dr. P. Subashini, Professor in Computer Science, School of Physical Sciences and Computational Sciences Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore in the topic Digital Literacy & Effective use of Social Media. 1800 female students were participated in this programme
  • Visit to Centre for Machine Learning and Intelligence (Research Lab)
  • The Funding Development Cell (FDC) of our College has signed MoU with Center for Machine Learning and Intelligence (Research Lab) at Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore. A team of 5 members have visited the Machine Learning and Intelligence (Research Lab) on 25.03.2022. They got knowledge about some real time projects like IoT, Cervical Cancer Analysis, Mosquito Classification, Mushroom Cultivation, Monitoring Water level in water tanks, Emotion Capturing and 3D printing.

  • FDC conducted the Survey on the topic “Facilitation of Study on Impact of COVID-19 in Adjoining Village of KASC” on 24.06.2020 at Kathirampatti, Nanjanapuram, Veppampalayam, Poongampagi, Koorapalayam, Muhasi - Four members of Research Team has gone to collect data in person and the report is uploaded in the UGC portal.
  • An Inauguration programme was conducted on 09.07.2020 with Dr. T. Velmurugan, Associate Professor, Head / BCA, D. G. Vaishnav College, Chennai as the resource person through virtual platform and live relay.
  • FDC Organized an International level online e-quiz for "RESEARCH INTELLIGENCE: A THOUGHT-PROVOKING RESEARCH QUEST " from 31.7.2020 to 04.08.2020. On successful completion of the quiz, participants scored 50% and above receive E-certificate. More than 1766 candidates from all over the world participated in this quiz.
  • Inter-Disciplinary -Social Science Project was applied to National Commision for Women on the title of “Women Migrants in India” on 12.09.2020
  • An Online Seminar was organized on 12.03.2021 titled “Planning And Developing A Successful Project Proposal – A 360° View. Dr. P.SUBASHINI, Professor in Computer Science, School of Physical Sciences and Computing Sciences, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Sciences and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore was the resource person. Funding Development Cell of our college has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Centre for Machine Learning and Intelligence of Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore on 22.4.2021 with the following Scope.
    1. Faculty exchange programmes
    2. Researcher exchange programmes
    3. Research based training for FDC members
    4. Research Summer Internship Projects awareness programmes for Faculty
    5. Scholars and Students without any financial implications on both sides
    6. Facilitate project oriented Industry – Institute Interface
  • KASC to be Institutional channel partner of Avinashilingam Institute for community development such as guiding rural women in research and skill development and provide technology through specialized support centers
  • Participation in Value Added Courses and Life Skill Development courses to be organized for the Researchers, Supervisors, Scholars , Faculty members and Students

  • Funding Development Cell is conducting periodical meeting on every Thursday to bring out the various dimensions of research and scope of funding projects in various disciplines.
  • The cell organized a National Workshop “Planning and Writing Successful Grant Proposals in the Science, Arts and Humanities" on 6th July 2019. Dr.A. Vijayakumar, Assistant Professor and HoD of Commerce, Erode Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Dr. R. Rajendran Associate Professor of Microbiology, PSG College of Arts and Science College (Autonomous) and Dr. P. Ponmurugan, Associate Professor, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore served as Resource Persons for the Programme. There are 210 researchers from various institutions participated in this workshop.
  • The cell organized National Seminar on “Techniques and Methods to Write Academic Research Paper in Refereed Journals and Book Chapters" on 19th December 2019. Dr. Dharma Raja, Independent Researcher, Political Strategist and Psephologist and Dr. J. Ghayathri, Associate Professor of Computer Science (PG) acted as Resource Persons to deliver the address the methods and techniques of research paper writing and the open educational resources. There are 110 participants benefited through this programme.
  • The Skill Development Activities have been conducted by the researchers of the college to improve the research activities.
  • The Funding Development Cell Organized a Webinar Series From 20.05.2020 To 22.05.2020 through Video Conference (GoogleMeet)
  • The members of the cell have applied for the funded projects in UGC - STRIDE, UGC - IMPRESS in the year 2019.
  • Under the guidance of the FDC, faculty members have applied for Seminars and Workshops in NCW and ICSSR organizations in the year 2019.
