Objectives
Long Term
- Motivate students to develop their own start-ups

- To have strong relationship with alumni for long standing growth of EDC.
Short Term
- To provide a platform for interaction with entrepreneurs
- Impart entrepreneurial education/skills amongst students through various
trainings and exercise
- Arrange vibrant interaction with organizations promoting the cause of
entrepreneurship.
- To create awareness among students about various assistance (Financial, Legal,
and Marketing etc.) provided to start & carry on a business.
- Mentor students/others who have business ideas by bringing expertise to their
doorstep. The EDC would be a networking hub for people aspiring to be
entrepreneurs and also play a role in team building as a part of its mentorship.
Mentoring the people at an early stage by giving proper direction and necessary
exposure would be crucial in converting technical ideas/projects into viable
business plans.
The ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL was created in the month of
August in the academic year 2011 – 2012 with the primary aim “TO DEVELOP MORE
EMPLOYERS THAN EMPLOYEES” which is the basic necessity for a country’s economy to
reach a developed state. There are at present 18 staff Coordinators headed by a
Coordinator who will report to the top management through the Principal. At present
there are 300 active student members who have a vision to become Entrepreneurs
within 5 years after completion of their studies. The cell is catering to the future
Entrepreneur’s needs by providing them continuous training, Motivation and Support
in order to start their own ventures.

- A leadership talk on “Opportunities and Challenges to Startup Founders” in commemoration of World Entrepreneurship Day was organized in collaboration with IIC of our institution on 21.8.2021. Mr. M. Martin, Field Coordinator, Entrepreneurship Development& Innovation Institute (EDII) Hub of SASTRA University, Thanjavur; Mr. P. Nandakumar, Emerging Entrepreneur, Managing Director, Mayaabazar Restaurant, Bubbles Kids and Women, Erode; Mr. M. Chevilamparithi, Managing Director, Surya Industries, Erode; J. Ruthra Priya, Virus Creations, Erode and Mr. Risabh, Sanjay's Fine Foods, Erode were the Resource Persons.
- A virtual Inauguration and Entrepreneurship talk event, “Preparing Students towards Entrepreneurial Mindset” was organized on 9.9.2021. Mr. M. Sathish Kumar, Author, Speaker and Blogger; Dr. Deepa Sathish, CEO and Chief Brain Analyst, KriSP Institute of Medical Science; Mr. Ashok Kumar, Entrepreneur, Digital Life Style and Personality Development Trainer were the Resource Persons.
- Entrepreneurship Talk Series, “Agripreneur- Life on a Farm” was organized on 24.9.2021. Mr. P. Thirugnanasambandam, MD, UYIR Organic Farmers Market, Erode was the Resource Person.
- Entrepreneurship Development Cell launch event was organized on 7.10.2021. The EDC Co-ordinator Mr. M. Arul Raja created awareness about entrepreneurship among students.
- Entrepreneurship Talk Series, “Foodpreneur- Art of changing Taste and Lifestyle” was organized on 12.10.2021. Mr. Madhampatty T. Rangaraj MD, Madhampatty Groups, Coimbatore, was the Resource Person.
- A Workshop, “Working Hands on Stock Market” was organized on 2.11.2021. Dr. K. Prabhakaran, Financial Educator, SEBI, NCDEX, NCFE was the Resource Person.
- “A Two Days Cognizance on Cotton Industry” was organized on 18.11.2021 and 19.11.2021. Mr. Murali Ellappan, MD, Cotton Comfort and Bharath Parameshwara, MD, BIC ORG India were the Resource Persons.
- A Two Days National Level “Investor Awareness Programme on Securities Market” was organized on 22.11.2021 and 23.11.2021. Dr. K. Prabhakaran, Financial Educator, SEBI, NCDEX, NCFE was the Resource Person.
- A Three Days “Awareness Programme on One- Million Ideas (TN-EDI)” was organized from 22.11.2021 to 26.11.2021. The EDC Co-ordinator Mr. M. Arul Raja, created awareness about the event among students.
- “Entrepreneurship- Student Meet on IT Sector” was organized on 10.12.2021. Mr. G. S Tamilarasu, Founder, CEO, ilmat, Erode was the Resource Person.
- Entrepreneurship Development Cell has organized an “Entrepreneur Interaction” program on 30.09.2019. The session was hosted by Mr. T.Kumar MD, Realtech systems. Beneficiaries were created awareness upon automobile safety that could be monitored using mobile phones. Students felt the session to be interesting and interactive.
- A Session on “Start up Mania” in this session was presided over by Mr.Kannan, Manager, Technology Business Incubator, Kongu Engineering College.
- The Cell was successfully inaugurated on 06.08.18 by Yaser Salem Muhammed, Managing Director, Hanna, Marketing Coimbatore.
- An Awareness Camp on Entrepreneurship Development was organized on 18.01.19. The Resource Person was Mr.Kannan, TBI, Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai.
- An Awareness Programme on Entrepreneurship Development was conducted through the Cell on 28.01.19. Mr. Pradeep dava, Million Minds, presided over the function.
The cell has conducted an “Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp”- I from 17/08/2017 to 19/08/2017 for 100 interested final year (Both UG & PG) students. Experts from Academic Institutions, Industry, Government Agencies, Financial Institutions and Banks were the resource persons for the training sessions. As a part of the training programme two industries were visited by the participants.
The cell has conducted a seminar on 24.01.2018 in the topic “Innovative Ideas” for the Entrepreneurial development cell members. The resource persons for the session were Prof. R. Mohan, Department of Management Studies and Mr.P.Kannan, Manager, Technology Business Incubator of Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai.
The cell has conducted essay writing competition in the topic of “India need Entrepreneurs” on 12.2.2018. 46 students were participated in this competition. Entrepreneurship development and innovative institute have granted the award winners of first and second place with the cash prize of Rs.3,000 and Rs.2,000 respectively.
The cell had conducted an Intra collegiate “Innovative Business Idea Competition” for the students in order to develop Innovative and Entrepreneurial skills among students on 24th February, 2018.
The cell has conducted an “Entrepreneurship Awareness Camp”- II on 23/02/2018, 24/02/2018 and 26/02/2018 for 100 interested final year (Both UG & PG) students.
