About the Department

The Department of Management Science was established in the year 1998 with the view to cater the needs of industrial and business houses and also to develop a class of entrepreneurs to accelerate the process of industrialization. Students are exposed to a wide variety of challenges, socio-economic scenarios and also connect with people from different backgrounds. The Department constitutes dedicated faculty members to teach, to guide and to motivate the students. Besides, frequent guest lectures are given by eminent personalities from industries and professional bodies who share their valuable experiences with our students. We endow outstation PDP programs and industrial visit to step into corporate world. Students are enhanced with day to day business data through Newspapers.

The curriculum is designed to:

  • The Class rooms are well equipped with excellent facilities like Multimedia projectors, Over head and Slide projectors, etc., to enhance the effectiveness of the teaching / learning process. A well equipped laboratory with 65 terminals connected with LAN. Students and faculty can avail Business Application Packages like MS-Office, Oracle, C++, Java, Tally package, SPSS, Visual Basic, Foxpro etc.,.
    RESEARCH PROGRAMMES
  • The Department offers M.Phil (Full-time and Part time) and Ph.D (Part-time) Programs. We have produced 62 M.Phil and 10 Ph.D scholars.
    VALUE ADDED COURSES
  • The Department is offering two different Add on courses : Start-ups for small business, which is fully practical oriented and a Certificate course in Human Rights Education, for which a certificate of competition is issued by Bharathiar University.

  • The students actively participate in various innovative activities in the name "MAKE" (Management Association of Kongu Executives).The activities includes Personality Development, Career Counselling, Outbound training, FESI (Fun and Earn through Smart Innovation) a display of stalls within the campus, and Extension activity.
  • Case Analysis: Real time business case analysis are encouraged among students ,which helps to improve their analytical skills.
  • Article Reviews: Students have to review an article which is published either in journal / Magazine / Newspaper weekly once .

    • The Department of Management Science (PG) of Kongu Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Erode had organized Two Days National Seminar titled "Transmuting Rural Economy Through Precision Farming Digital Technologies" on 29 & 30 December 2021. In the first technical session Thiru. P. K. Deivasigamani, National President, Turmeric Farmers Association of India, Erode shared his views about "Role of Digital Agriculture in Farmers Economy". Technical Session II was chaired by Thiru. R. M. Subramanian, Retd. Joint Director of Agriculture, Erode regarding "Empowerment of Digital Agriculture." Technical Session III headed by Dr. M. Vasan, Assistant Professor of Commerce, National College, Trichy emphasized "Policies and Standards for Digital Agriculture". On 30th December 2021 the technical session IV was headed by Thiru. L. Kolandaivelu, Assistant Director of Agriculture, Perundurai. Dr. P.     • A Guest lecture was delivered by Mr.S.Shakthiwaran, Officer, Canara Bank, Trichy on 11.02.2019 regarding "Mutual Fund Insights" for MBA Executives.
    • An Intercollegiate Meet "MAKEXCELS 2K19" is scheduled on 22.02.2019. More than 254 students from various institutions participated and exhibited their talents.

    • A special training on "Online Stock Trading" was given by Mr.M.Ramesh, Chartered Accountant, Erode on 13.07.2017 for II Year MBA students.
    • Mr.Raja, Helix Training Institute, Erode conducted "Industry Readiness Training Programme" from 19.07.2017 to 21.07.2017 for II Year MBA students.
    • "Transaction Analysis" a special lecture was given to II Year MBA students by Mrs.R.SasiPrabha, Transactional Analysis Expert, Gobi on 04.08.2017.
    • A special lecture was delivered by Dr.K.Prabhakaran, Assistant Professor, Department of Business and Accounting, Muscat College Sultanate of Oman on 07.08.2017 regarding "Financial Markets for Future Investors" for II Year MBA students.
    • A session was organised for our MBA executives on "Entrepreneurial Avenues" by Mr.T.M.Senthilkumar, Entrepreneur & CII Member and YI Erode on 10.08.2017.
    • An Industrial visit was arranged for II MBA executives to AnubhavUdhyog, Mysore from 11.08.2017 to 13.08.2017.
    • An Industrial visit was arranged for MBA executives to Tex Valley, Chithode on 16.12.2017.
    • To cultivate real time experience in marketing our department organised an event "FESI 2k17"on 28.12.2017 & 29.12.2017 at KASC Basket Ball Court.
    • A session on "Application of Parametric and Non-parametric tests using SPSS" was delivered by Dr.M.Vasan, Assistant Professor of Commerce, A.V.V.M.SriPushpam College (A),Poondi, Thanjavur on 29.01.2018 for I MBA students.
    • A guest lecture on "Trading in International Commodities" was given to II Year MBA students on 31.01.2018 by Mr.M.Ramesh, Chartered Accountant, Erode.
    • An Extension Activity on "Human Rights" was organised for the Public and Self-Help Group members of Vellode.The session was handled byMr.R.Balasubramanian, District Secretary CPC, Erode on 31.01.2018 at Panchayat Union Elementary School, Vellode.
    • An Industrial visit was arranged for I MBA students to "The Hindu Press", Coimbatore on 02.02.2018.
    • An Intercollegiate meet "MAKEXCELS 2k18" was organised on 15.02.2018. Nearly 400 participants from 17 institutions exhibited their talents.Mr.K.Parivallal, CEO, DMW CNC Solutions India Private Limited, Perundurai inaugurated the event.
